Simply put, private lessons are the best way to improve on your instrument! You’ll work one-on-one with a trumpet player with over 20 years of experience teaching and performing. I tailor the curriculum of each lesson to the individual needs of each student to bring out the best in your music-making.

To begin with, we will focus on fundamentals. Fundamentals are the basic components required to make a great sound on the instrument, so it’s important to tackle them first. Once you start to get a handle on the fundamentals, we’ll work on scales (the building blocks of all Western music), solos, and other music. You are always welcome to request specific music or to bring something in to work on.

Bring it to your lesson! Remember, lessons are for learning. Together, we will look at what you are struggling with and devise solutions and practice methods to help you improve. 

Your improvement is always tied to how much time you spend playing your trumpet. I recommend 20 minutes/day for beginners and 30 minutes/day for older students, aiming for 5-6 days a week. As you grow and improve, you may find yourself practicing even more!

Lessons are $32 for half an hour or $60 for an hour and take place weekly. Payment will be billed monthly and is due by the first lesson of each month. Please reach out if that does not work for you. I’m happy to make special arrangements as needed.

Lessons take place at my cozy home in East St. Paul. Parents and guardians are always welcome to sit in on their student’s lessons.

This special is for all first-time band students who are learning the trumpet. Start your musical career off right with one-on-one lessons with a professional trumpet player. We’ll start at the beginning and learn the fundamentals and basics of making a great sound on the trumpet to give you a head start in band.

The beginner special is only $100!

You’ll get six 20-minute lessons scheduled at your convenience.

Repetition is key, so I recommend grouping the six lessons as close together as possible. Preferably, 2-3 lessons per week, to establish good playing habits right off the bat. Once your student is in band and playing regularly, weekly lessons are recommended.

Lessons take place at my cozy home in East St. Paul. Parents and guardians are always welcome to sit in on their student’s lessons.

Receive a 10% discount on your first full month of private lessons. Regular lessons are scheduled for 30-minutes once a week.

The Beginner Special is valid in August only for students who are first-time trumpet players. The bonus 10% discount will be applied when you make your first monthly payment and must be used within three months of completing the six lessons of the Beginner Special. Please mention the special when scheduling.
